- Hello. I`m back after a months break with a few questions at the
- ready.
-
- 1. Everyone go and download two of my games (or more if you want).
- Specifically. Banana Islands and Kill Em All. (Nice titles I know)
- http://www.cs.nott.ac.uk/~agm/kill.html
- OR link to them at: http://www.cs.nott.ac.uk/~agm/amiga.html
- I think that both of them are quite reasonable compared to the
- usual standard of AMOS stuff. Admittedly, I knicked SOME gfx of
- people (but not without significant changes to them) and they can slow
- down but..... oh someone just tell me what you think please??!
-
- 2. Does anyone use the Turbo extension?
- I have a problem using the faster icon 32 commands. They often
- cause graphical displays to go wrong (especially if memory is low)
- and if you try to display them anywhere near the sides of a screen,
- they are moved so that they fit fully on. I realise that the author
- cut down on clipping to speed them up but what i`d rather is that
- they are simply not pasted at all rather than moved where I don`t
- want them. Any ideas?
-
- 3. I don`t suppose that the AMOS source code has been released into
- the PD in the last month? Thought not.
-
- 4. Using a combination of the JD extension and the turbo extension,
- there are commands to turn off multi-tasking (Multi No and JD Multi
- off - I think). Well these give a reasonable speed increase but as
- the authors say, it disables the keyboard. One of the extensions (I
- can`t remember which) gives a command - n=Raw Key(x) - which is
- supposed to overcome this, but it is EXTREMELY unreliable and often
- just causes a lock out. Any one have any solutions? I also find that
- these multi tasking off commands will crash AMOS quite often even if
- you turn them off at the end of your program.
-
- 5. I`m sure I`ve some other things but I can`t remember right now.
-
- Thanks for reading!
